WEEK 8:

The Houston Texans were one of the most patriotic teams in the league this season, until they became one of the worst in week 8. Almost the entire team kneeled in protest of the National Anthem except for about 10 players who stood. Those who kneeled included: Lamar Miller, Tyler Ervin, Marcus Gilchrist, Kurtis Drummond, Johnathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson, Andre Hal, Kevin Johnson, Treston Decoud, Eddit Pleasant, Marcus Williams, Corey Moore, Ben Heeney, Benardrick McKinney, Brennan Scarlett, Lamarr Houston, Carlos Watkins, Brandon Dunn, Ufomba Kamalu, Christian Covington and D.J. Reader. Unfortunately, we could not identify all of the players as there wasn't enough photographic evidence to identify them based on jersey number.

The protests were in response to Texans owner Bob McNair's comments earlier in the week regarding the NFL Protests. He said "We can't have the inmates running the prison.", apparently said during a meeting between team owners in dispute with the NFL league office regarding the protests and the league making major policy decisions without input from team owners. Some players walked out of practice.

Regardless of whatever beef the Houston Texans players had with the owner, these players decided take the low-class road and drag the National Anthem and the American Flag through the mud by refusing to stand for the Anthem - disrespecting the men and women who fought and died for our freedom and for our nation throughout history. These selfish, multi-millionaire players have not learned from us that National Anthem is NOT about them. Today, these players show their true colors and values - what they are all about.
