WEEK 9:
Ameer Abdullah raised his fist above his head in the radical "black power" race sign during the National Anthem
WEEK 4:
Steve Longa and Jalen Reeves-Maybin of the Detroit Lions both kneeled in protest during the National Anthem. Tahir Whitehead who kneeled the previous week, stood this week and put his hands on the shoulders of Longa and Reeves-Maybin in support.
WEEK 3:
8 players from the Detroit Lions locked arms and kneeled in protest of the National Anthem: Ameer Abdullah, Tahir Whitehead, A'Shawn Robinson, Cornelius Washington, Akeem Spence, Jeremiah Ledbetter, Steve Longa, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Most of these players were from the Defense side of the team, except for Running Back Abdullah. This was the first time this season that the Lions protested. A large number of protests happened in response to comments that President Donald Trump made days earlier which criticized players who sat or kneeled during the National Anthem - a sign of disrespect to the nation and the people who fought and died for it.
